About Megan
Megan Rue is an associate attorney at the Law Office of Rick Cofer. She practices criminal and family law in Travis and surrounding counties.
Megan is a native Austinite and graduate of the University of Texas School of Law. While at UT, she represented asylum seekers in bond proceedings, defended children accused of criminal offenses, and represented survivors of domestic violence in complex family law matters. She served as a law clerk at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia and the National Center for Law and Economic Justice. She also provided pro bono legal assistance to community activists through her work with the National Lawyers Guild, which she remains actively involved with.
Prior to law school, Megan provided legal advocacy and education to people inside California women's prisons.
Megan was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in November 2018.
